News - August 2010

July has been another incredible month for smartsm with the number of UK and International library services signing up to the solution continuing to grow. In addition, the implementation team have been busy working closely with more customers who are now going LIVE with the product and beginning the process of utilising EBSM across their respective library services.

On Sunday June 27th we hosted an invite-only breakfast session at ALA Conference in Washington DC. Again, this well attended event gave us the opportunity to show collectionHQ to a hand-picked audience of some of the leading public libraries in North America.

Since we launched the product in North America in late March, we have had a tremendous response and are delighted to already be working with a number of the most innovative and high profile public libraries in North America.

This month we are delighted to announce 5 more new customers in the UK & Ireland. Denbighshire County Libraries, Nottinghamshire County Libraries, Clare County Libraries, Newcastle City Libraries and Birmingham City Libraries have all now subscribed to smartsm and we look forward to working closely with them going forward.

Our UK & Ireland implementation team have been busy in the month of July with 4 new library services now LIVE with smartsm.

Northamptonshire, Somerset, Bolton and South Dublin are now LIVE with smartsm and beginning the process of implementing EBSM methodology across their library services.

The smartsm team is delighted to announce a series of half day regional workshops for library services who have not yet subscribed to smartsm, but would like to discover more. Each workshop will focus on a number of topical areas, looking at how the adoption of EBSM/smartsm can save time, money and improve stock performance. This will provide a unique insight into how this very powerful solution will:

  • Drive stock performance improvements, savings and efficiency gains across your library service.
  • Help you to make the most your book fund through effective, evidence based stock selection and eliminate wastage from the procurement process.
  • Improve the performance of your current stock and make this work as hard as possible.
  • Free up time from routine stock management processes, which can be shifted to other areas of the library.
  • Support promotional and reader development activities across your service.

Each of the following FREE workshops will include a buffet lunch and be hosted by an existing smartsm client, which will provide an opportunity to discuss their adoption of EBSM/smartsm and usage of this in a live environment.
